What is Taboga Island Panama Really Like?
Here’s our view: Taboga is like a relaxed, stress free, Caribbean beach-island blended with a Mediterranean fishing village, then picked up and dropped into the Pacific only one hour from Panama City. It is so laid back and well positioned that even many of the Caribbean Pirates made Taboga their Pacific base!

Quaint hotel rooms which are first floor. An ocean-view, plunge pool, sun terrace and garden view large shared balcony is located outside off the hallway and living area, choice of twin or queen beds. All accommodation comes with a/c, ceiling fans, private bathroom with hot water. All of the rooms have a tropical tree view – the favorite view of our guests is from the balcony in the front where guests like to site outside enjoying the perfect weather, chirping birds and fresh island air. -Canopy Sea View One Bedroom Suite- Special Rates from $85 / 2 persons +tax
Lovely, tropical-country style one bedroom private suite apartment with queen beds, basic kitchenette (frig, microwave, coffeemaker) and on demand hot water system; we can add an additional cot on request. All accommodation comes with a/c, ceiling fans. Apartment has rainforest view and part ocean view from its semi-private balcony on the second floor; not from the bedroom. Enjoy our new plunge pool and sun terrace! Our Rack Rate on this apartment is $130 per night; plus 10% government tourism tax. -Oceanview La Palma Two Bedroom Suite- Special Rates from $175 / 4 persons +tax
Spacious two bedroom, one bathroom with on demand hot water system, basic kitchenette (frig, microwave, coffeemaker), private suite on the second floor with a spectacular ocean view from its large second floor balcony and living room. View of the new plunge pool and sun terrace as well. All accommodation comes with a/c, ceiling fans. Twin beds and a Queen as well as a day bed and a hammock. There is an extra charge for additional adults in the rooms of $25. 1 child 12 and under is free. Additional children to 18, $15. Extra charges include portable cots and breakfast. Jubilados: If you have a jubilado (pensioner with Panama status) in your group, please advise us when making your reservation.

Breakfast at additional cost of $8 (special price for guests) Served from 7:30 am until 9:00 am; In the rooms: private bathrooms, quality furnishings, beach/pool towels in addition to bath towels, and A/C in the bedrooms, local TV, free wifi. New Plunge Pool and Sun Terrace! Early check out or cancellation: If you have made reservations for several days and for any reason check out early, you will be charged the room charge as reserved as we have lost the opportunity to book your room. Down payments are only refundable 6 weeks before the reservation minus the administration fee, within 6 weeks they are non refundable.
Check In and Check Out: Check in is at 2 pm, but if there is no one in your accommodation, you may request to check in early. Check out is at 11 am. There is the possibility to check out late please ask what charges apply. If guests are not present by 12 noon we will charge a half of the nightly rate as a late check-out charge.
When you make your reservation to vacation with us, please let us know the boat you will come on and the time. Taxis are available at the pier.
FOOD & EVENTS
DELICIOUS FOOD: Private Chef: We have a private chef on site who has a menu offering delicious fresh local food for your convenience; his specialty is fresh fish and seafood. In addition we offer home made artisanal pizza.
RANCHITO del CERRITO: We now have an Event Rancho for small private groups. BBQ´s, fresh fish lunches, casual meeting retreats, small weddings, fiestas. Let us know what your needs are and we will quote on your event, plus we now offer Day Packages with lunch.
ACTIVITIES & TRANSPORT
ACTIVITIES: We can organize fishing trips with a local guide by boat, trips around the island by boat, 4×4 trips to the top of Taboga mountain, walking tour of Taboga (scheduled normally on weekends) and hiking (scheduled normally on weekends). A day of whale watching off Taboga can be organized with a professional guide and Captain (these tours require advanced reservations).
TAXIS: There are privately owned taxi trucks available when you arrive at the Taboga pier for transfer to Cerrito Tropical (or to and from the beach if you don’t feel like walking), Rate is $1.50 – $2 per person to Cerrito Tropical.
FINANCIAL NOTES: Tax is additional and is 10% Panama Tourism tax, this is not a service charge; Service Tips are at your discretion (the norm in Panama is 10% or 20% for very good service). Our staff receives all their tips earned. People often don’t realize that there are no banks or ATM´s on Taboga, please don’t forget to bring cash, for unforeseen incidentals. We accept VISA and MASTER CARD, YAPPY, NEQUI, ACH, PAYPAL.
