Taboga Island Panama Tips
Banks & ATM’s: Bring spending money to Taboga, there are no banks or ATMs and many places cannot accept credit cards or traveler’s checks. At Cerrito Tropical B&B Hotel, we do now accept credit cards – Visa and MasterCard.
High Season (Dec thru April): Please book in advance so as not to be disappointed, it rarely rains during high season and the weather is brilliant, often it does not rain for several months and during that period the Panama school vacation December through March. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
Calypso Ferries and National Ferries for Taboga Island Panama (check this homepage under ferries): On busy days buy ferry tickets in advance, or go early. Ferry schedule is on Cerrito Tropical’s website. Or even better, buy Taboga Island ferry tickets in advance.
Tidal currents: Be careful of currents between Isla Morro and Taboga Island when tide coming up and covering the sandbar which connects the two islands. Taboga Island offers several of the SAFEST beaches on the Pacific side of Panama.
